Detroit Airport PLB Restoration Completed Ahead of Schedule

In September, PBP successfully completed a major Detroit Airport PLB restoration project at Wayne County’s North Terminal. The work involved a full paint restoration and carpet renovation of both the interior and exterior Passenger Loading Bridges (PLBs).

PBP managed the project in close coordination with DANTeC and the Airport Authority. After eight years of continuous use, the PLBs showed significant wear from fading, oxidation, and jet fuel exhaust exposure. Our restoration efforts returned the bridges to top condition—improving both functionality and passenger experience.

This Detroit Airport PLB restoration project served several major airlines, including American Airlines, United Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and JetBlue Airways. Thanks to our experienced team, we delivered the project safely, ahead of schedule, and with minimal disruption to airport operations.

At PBP, we specialize in aviation infrastructure services like PLB refurbishment, baggage system support, and facility maintenance. Our Detroit project reflects our ongoing commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
